In late October 2021, Ukraine's Novokramatorsky Mashinostroitelny Zavod (NKMZ) delivered a skip-type mine winder of model ШПМ ЦШ-5х8 to the Sokolovsky iron ore of SSGPO in Kazakhstan (the mine is part of ERG). This is the fourth mining coiler designed, manufactured and delivered to customers by NKMZ's mining and press forging equipment production division this year.

The ШПМ ЦШ-5х8 model NKMZ is said to be one of the world's most productive mine coilers, capable of lifting 60 tons of iron ore from a depth of more than 700 m in a single lifting operation. In terms of its type, it is a multi-rope machine that lifts the vehicle by friction between the drum lining and the rope. The ШПМ ЦШ-5х8 model is mounted on a tower headband, equipped with two lifting motors of 3,800 kW each, a traction pulley with a diameter of 5 m, and eight-strand lifting ropes. The design also includes eight lined strands with a removable lining made of modern German Becorit material, which has a high coefficient of friction and can transmit the required torque. The machine is also equipped with shoe brakes with four spring-loaded drives, which provide reliable braking and easy setup and maintenance. The mining and press forging equipment production department is also manufacturing another ШПМ 2Ц-6,4 х 2,4 ТД mine winder for TNC Kazchrome JSC in Kazakhstan. The equipment will be assembled in December 2021.

For SSGPO Sarbaisky open-pit mining operations, NKMZ began production of ЭР1500 – 9,5/0,5 bucket wheel excavators this year, which was also designed by the company’s mining and press forging equipment production department. This is the third bucket wheel excavator of this model produced by NKMZ for SSGPO. The first two were provided by NKMZ in 2012 and are still running successfully. "The miners are very satisfied with the performance of these excavators, so they placed an order for the production of the third machine at NKMZ. Taking into account the wishes of the customer, the NKMZ team made minor modifications to the design of the machine to improve its maintainability and ease of use sex."

NKMZ is a well-known supplier of reliable and high-quality large-scale bucket wheel composite equipment, weighing 6,000 tons, manufactured in the Soviet era and used in open-pit mines. Some of them are still running, well beyond the guaranteed service life. For example, since 1979, Volnogorsk GMK has been operating a large-scale bucket wheel complex.

Sarbaisky's 1,500 t/h bucket wheel excavator is a compact machine (weight >188 t, length 35 m, width 7.5 m, and height 8 m) for material handling in enclosed warehouses. Its main advantages are mobility and productivity.
