Accidents: July 18: A State Hwy. 34 caller witnessed an ATV accident with no injuries; Law enforcement checked on a vehicle suspected of being involved in an accident on State Hwy. 34;

July 23: A Rockwood Twp. caller reported someone hit his vehicle overnight at the Backwoods Bar, moving the vehicle and breaking a window; An accident report described a female sitting on the edge of the road rocking back and forth;

July 24: A Rockwood Twp. caller reported a hit and run accident, damaging their driver side and a front wheel.

Animal Related: July 18: A State Hwy. 64 caller reported three cows out on the highway;

July 19: A County 89 caller reported an ongoing issue with a neighbor’s horses roaming freely on caller’s mother’s property; A County 91 caller reported a bear climbing onto their deck;

July 21: A caller reported a deer needing to be put down;

July 22: A Lakeport Twp. caller complained about a barking dog, saying he talked to the property owner who said it’s his daughter’s dog and there’s nothing he can do; A County 9 caller in the Becida area reported a golden retriever or yellow Lab in a vehicle that was not running, with windows barely open; A caller reported a brown horse heading west; A 200th St. caller reported their neighbor has 10 dogs, seeming aggressive and suspected of killing caller’s chickens, and caller was concerned about them hurting her child;

July 23: A 239th Ave. caller reported two missing dogs;

July 24: A caller found a “smaller mutt,” brown with a pink collar; A Nevis caller wanted someone stopped from posting things about her on Facebook.

Assaults/Harassment: July 19: A Becker County 123 caller reported the petitioner of an order for protection (OFP) calling the respondent, giving a fictitious name in an effort to solicit a return phone call to create an OFP violation; A County 118 caller reported a male in a dune buggy was driving in the wrong lane and when caller honked at him, he followed her home and screamed profanities at her; A County 9 caller reported that shortly after a custody exchange, her daughter called her crying, then the called dropped and caller could not reach them;

July 20: A U.S. Hwy. 71 caller reported three adult males and one adult female physically fighting;

July 21: A 270th St. caller reported their 12-year-old stepdaughter was hitting them and was out of control after her father took away her phone;

July 24: A County 18 caller reported that her ex keeps texting her.

Burglaries/Theft: July 18: A County 4 caller reported a $17.98 gas drive-off; A State Hwy. 87 caller reported a burglary involving an ATV that damaged a fence and went onto the property; A County 6 caller reported a scam; A County 39 caller said she saw someone removing the security camera from her front door area;

July 19: A Lake Emma Twp. caller reported a credit card scam; A 185th Ave. caller reported the theft of tools;

July 20: A U.S. Hwy. 71 caller reported a motorcycle stolen; A caller said a female stole their vehicle and satellite pings placed it in the Backus area;

July 21: A residential garage motion alarm was activated Lake Emma Twp.;

July 22: A Park Rapids caller reported their truck stolen;

July 23: A Hubbard Twp. caller reported someone rifled through her vehicle overnight, though nothing appeared stolen;

July 24: A pole barn service door alarm was activated in Hubbard Twp. and alarm company had not made contact with the keyholders; A Hubbard Twp. caller reported someone broke into their brother’s truck and took a loaded gun; A Hubbard Twp. caller reported motor vehicle tampering; A Hubbard Twp. caller reported theft of a checkbook; A Henrietta Twp. business reported a breakin, with a broken door jamb and the theft of cash and saws; A Hubbard Twp. caller reported a vehicle in the neighbor’s hard with its trunk open and seeing someone inside the residence; A State Hwy. 87 caller reported two vehicles broken into, with a bag of money and a firearm taken; A caller requested assistance after their vehicle broke down in Walker and they walked to Hubbard County 38; A Hubbard Twp. caller reported his truck was broken into, possibly on July 22; A Hubbard Twp. caller reported theft and motor vehicle tampering; Two more Hubbard Twp. callers reported theft; A Hubbard Twp. caller reported property found.

Fires: July 19: A County 39 caller reported a tree on a power line was on fire, but it was out now;

July 20: A smoke alarm was activated in Hubbard Twp.;

July 22: A Todd Twp. caller reported a nearby fire.

Medical: July 18: A 78-year-old male activated a medical pendant alarm in Savannah Twp. and Becker County reported no response; An ambulance was requested on U.S. Hwy. 71 near Bemidji for a male lying on the roadway outside a Chevy Blazer; An ambulance was requested in Arago Twp. for a 70-year-old male possibly having heat stroke; An ambulance was requested on County 89 for a 72-year-old male who fell off a 13-foot ladder; An ambulance was requested on 230th St. for a 46-year-old male having a seizure, who fell and possibly hit his head;

July 19: A medical alarm was activated on 193rd Ave. for a male who fell and couldn’t get up; An ambulance was requested on 410th St. for an 86-year-old, diabetic female who was sweating and feeling unwell; An ambulance was requested in Henrietta Twp. for a male with a back injury;

July 20: An ambulance was requested in Guthrie Twp. for a female who was having difficulty breathing and “not acting right”; An ambulance was requested in Steamboat River Twp. for abdominal pain; An 81-year-old female in Lake Emma Twp. activated her medical alarm, and alarm company was unable to make contact;

July 21: An ambulance was requested in Farden Twp. for a female who fell between the bed and dresser, hurt her neck and back and lay there for a couple hours; An ambulance was requested for a male pulled over in a Buick Encore, seeing double; A medical alarm was activated for a lift assist on 193rd Ave.; An ambulance was requested in Farden Twp. for a 77-year-old female having trouble breathing; A medical alarm was activated on State Hwy. 87 for a lift assist; An ambulance was requested for a male in a Ford pickup with a beesting, whose tongue was starting to swell up;

July 22: An ambulance was requested in Lake George for a 43-year-old female in a Honda Civic possibly having a stroke; An ambulance was requested in Farden Twp. for a female possibly having a stroke;

July 23: An ambulance was requested on County 9 for a possible heart attack or stroke; A lift assist was requested in Todd Twp. to help a female out of a chair; An ambulance was requested in Lake Emma Twp. for a male who was very dizzy and couldn’t open his eyes;

July 24: An ambulance was requested in Park Rapids for a male having a seizure.

Miscellaneous: July 18: A 175th Ave. caller made a littering complaint; A caller requested officer assistance retrieving property from a County 110 residence; A caller requested officer assistance retrieving personal property from a U.S. Hwy. 71 location; A 145th Ave. caller hard shots fired near her residence; A State Hwy. 200 caller was suspicious about a car that pulled into her driveway and parked there with its lights on; A County 7 caller reported a suspicious vehicle;

July 19: A County 6 caller made a trespassing complaint, saying her ex was retrieving items on her property but was supposed to contact her first to make arrangements; A County 18 caller found a Canon camera flash attachment near the Potato River; An open-line 911 call from Thorpe Twp. had no sounds in the background, no answer upon callback and no voicemail; A caller reported losing a white gold diamond engagement ring on the Heartland Trail; An Akeley caller had a firearm belonging to someone who was not eligible to possess firearms, and caller wanted advice; Help was requested for two backpackers who were lost in the woods; A 219th Ave. caller found a pontoon floating in the lake and took it to his dock; A 450th St. caller asked if he can sell ammo at a garage sale and if not, what he can do with it; A County 119 caller reported suspicious activity taking place on July 16; Law enforcement did a business check in Nevis;

July 20: Law enforcement checked on a suspicious van in Farden Twp.; A 169th Ave. caller reported a property dispute between family members of a recently deceased person; A caller asked that an officer go with him to a house he was awarded in a lawsuit, saying he was unsure whether the other party was still in the house; A 911 hang-up came from County 33 and when there was no answer upon callback, dispatch left a voicemail; A Pennsylvania caller requested officer assistance regarding a customer in Todd Twp. to whom he accidentally shipped two mini excavator tracks when customer had only paid for one, saying the customer was now refusing to return the second track; A Crow Wing Lake Twp. caller had questions about child custody; The probation office asked for a party in Nevis to be arrested on a probation violation; The Beltrami County probation office wanted a party in Nevis to be arrested on a probation violation; A Henrietta Twp. caller made a noise complaint about fireworks across the road;

July 21: Law enforcement checked on a suspicious vehicle; Beltrami County reported receiving a 911 hang-up from a track phone in Farden Twp., on which someone said “You called 911” and the call disconnected; A caller complained about noise at a gravel pit, saying it was always operating, extremely loud and making the area unlivable; A Park Rapids area caller reported suspicious vehicles on his property;

July 22: A State Hwy. 87 caller reported a suspicious male wearing a black mask in caller’s garage; A caller reported losing a wallet July 15 at a gas station, saying it possibly fell off the car after she paid for gas near Royalton, and caller wanted advice for preventing fraud; A State Hwy. 34 caller reported garbage bags in a lane of traffic; Law enforcement did multiple resort checks; A caller requested officer assistance retrieving property from a County 31 residence; A County 19 caller reported her front step was broken and the landlord was told about it but did nothing; A Nevis caller reported trespassing;

July 23: Law enforcement checked on a suspicious vehicle on County 18; Law enforcement patrolled the Nevis 5K run; A 500th St. caller asked to have the public bathroom opened as a wedding was going on; A County 18 caller reported someone threw a beer bottle at her vehicle overnight and smashed the windshield; A Clover Twp. caller reported someone was target-shooting in the woods, and caller thought they’d heard one fly over their head; Law enforcement patrolled the Nevis parade and Muskie Days; A vehicle search in Nevis turned up a small amount of marijuana; Law enforcement reported someone urinating in a public alley in Nevis;

July 24: A 30-year-old caller wanted to be let out of his parents’ GMC Denali and said they would pull over at Bullwinkle’s and meet an officer; A Nevis caller said she was traveling to pick up her children but someone was trying to keep them from her.

Traffic: July 19: Law enforcement assisted a motorist on U.S. Hwy. 71; Motorist assist was requested on County 101 for a Mercedes that broke down on the roadway; Motorist assist was requested on U.S. Hwy. 71; A State Hwy. 34 caller reported a Chevy Equinox speeding and passing unsafely; A Henrietta Twp. caller reported a four-wheeler tearing up the road; Motorist assist was requested on U.S. Hwy. 71;

July 20: A small car was reported swerving on County 7; A County 11 caller reported a Jeep passing people on the right;

July 21: Multiple boat and water violations were reported; A caller reported a big orange truck, possibly a state truck, driving recklessly, speeding and slowing down; A caller reported a closed-trailer semi swerving all over the road; A pickup was reported tailgating and almost hitting a motorcycle head-on while trying to pass; A minivan was reported driving recklessly, going into and out of ditches in Akeley Twp.; Law enforcement assisted a bicyclist;

July 22: Multiple vehicles were stopped for following too close; Multiple boat and water violations were reported; Two motorcycles were stopped; A parking violation was reported; A caller reported people water skiing and tubing after sunset and boating close to docks;

July 23: A caller reported a vehicle driving down the center line and stopping in the middle of the road; Cass County passed along a report of a cement truck or dump truck swerving all over the roadway on Cass County 12/Hubbard County 23; Multiple boat and water violations were reported; Law enforcement checked out debris in the roadway;

July 24: A caller reported a truck hauling two oil barrels on a trailer almost ran a couple people off the road; A caller reported irrigation spraying on State Hwy. 87; A caller reported a vehicle en route to Akeley swerving all over the road; A State Hwy. 64 caller reported a group of four-wheelers and dirt bikes on the side of the road kicked a rock into her windshield, and one did a wheelie, and another group was riding along the highway instead of in the ditch; A County 1 caller reported a tree blocking a lane of traffic.
