Excavator crashed into car in Toms River, no one was injured: Police | Toms River, New Jersey

Toms River, New Jersey-Toms River Police said a trailer with an excavator attached to a dump truck overturned and landed on a vehicle waiting for a red light.

At around 5:40 on Wednesday afternoon, the truck will turn right into Whitesville Road from Rte. 70. When turning, the trailer overturned and the excavator stopped on the roof of a red light. The police said that neither the truck driver nor the driver of the stopped vehicle was injured.

Just before the Toms River incident, the truck caused damage in Brick. At about 5:08 pm, the vertical excavator removed several wires along the Rte. According to Bricktown police, there are 70 people in Bricktown. One of the wires fell on the top of a car, but police said the driver was not injured. The downed electrical wires also caused massive power outages and road closures as multiple workers tried to repair them.

Electricity in the area was interrupted for several hours, Rte. 70 Close from Rte. 88 to Pier Avenue. As of 11 am on Thursday, power is restored, Rte. A Brick officer told Patch that the westbound section of No. 70 was open, but the road to the southbound of Brick Boulevard was still closed.

The truck driver has been identified as the 56-year-old Christopher W. Caches of Toms River. He has been issued a subpoena for careless driving. Sergeant Toms River Police spokesperson. James Kelly also told The Daily Voice that Caches received a subpoena for failing to report a motor vehicle accident, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, and improperly loading the vehicle.
