Construction workers are hard at work, dismantling the concrete walkway leading to the front entrance of Poth City Hall.

The small municipal building is undergoing changes to increase its accessibility to align with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design, Poth Mayor Crystal Eckel advised.

ADA-compliant, the building — located at 200 N. Carroll St. in downtown Poth — is gaining two more parking spaces, Eckel said.

Currently, the building has just three parking spots.

So far, the construction work has not impacted hours of operation for city hall, according to City Clerk Misty Keathley.

The mayor expects construction to be completed in January.

Due to their regularly scheduled meetings falling on holidays in the next two months, Poth City Council members have rescheduled their upcoming meeting dates.

Council members will meet at 7 p.m. on Mondays Jan. 24 and Feb. 28.
