Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through December 20, 2021. 

On 12/17/2021, School Resource Deputies at an unidentified school responded to assist School Campus Security with a report of a fight. The investigation determined these were mutual combatants who willingly met each other on the soccer field by the portable classrooms to fight each other. Neither reported any injuries, and both refused to see the school nurse or paramedics. The principal will determine discipline under the Broward Schools “PROMISE” program matrix.

On 12/18/2021, the suspect intentionally placed his hands on the victim during a domestic altercation, causing injury. The victim refused further cooperation and did not provide a taped statement. The suspect was transported to the main jail.

On 12/17/2021, a mother and son argued over the use of a golf cart, which led to the son throwing a fit and yelling at his mother. No crime occurred.

On 12/16/2021, an 8th-grade student was caught by the school administration with alcohol on school grounds.

On 12/16/2021, a caller advised that she lost her gold tennis bracelet while jogging through her neighborhood.

On 12/16/2021, a subject was found looking for a local memorial without first obtaining a visitor’s pass. No victims were listed.

A person was the victim of Theft – All Other in the 6000 block of University Dr on 12/15/2021. A Kubota excavator was removed from a construction site. The excavator is red, bearing serial number model number KX080-4. Tot. Est. Loss: $119,312.

A person was the victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting in the 7100 block of N State Road 7 on 12/15/2021. Reporting person advised an unknown male entered a store and obtained one demo Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max valued at $1,099.99. The male exited the business passing all points of sale and failing to purchase the iPhone. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,099.

Santana Santos, Milton, 48, was arrested on Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol charges on Pacifica Way on 12/18/2021.
