Distribution of Vermeer-branded compact articulated loaders expands to Vermeer dealers worldwide.

PELLA, Iowa – Vermeer Corporation has purchased a minority equity investment in MultiOne, a manufacturer of compact articulated loaders.

This investment comes a year after Vermeer entered a distribution agreement with MultiOne to supply Vermeer-branded loaders to be sold, serviced and supported exclusively through Vermeer dealers across North America and the Caribbean.

Building on the early success of last year’s agreement, distribution of Vermeer-branded loaders produced by MultiOne will now expand to Vermeer dealers worldwide beginning this year. MultiOne will also continue to provide blue, MultiOne-branded loaders through its existing distribution partners outside North America.

“We are excited to take our partnership with MultiOne to this next level,” said Doug Hundt, president of Vermeer Industrial Solutions. “The demand for compact loaders is growing worldwide, and this puts Vermeer in a great position with a lineup of proven products, attachments and dealers to help our customers reduce their labor needs and get more important work done.”

MultiOne will continue under the leadership of Fiorenza Carraro and Stefano Zanini, with global holdings company, Lifco, taking on majority ownership. Its main operations and manufacturing will remain headquartered in Vicenza, Italy.

The company is starting with its line of utility loaders, while other product categories will follow the Performance Tiering Strategy over time.

MOLINE, Ill.  —John Deere launches its Performance Tiering Strategy, delivering a range of products at different levels of capability and user experience. Available first on the wheel loader lineup, the Performance Tiering Strategy supports customers by providing machine solutions built for various applications and jobs to enhance profitability and efficiency. Moving away from the traditional series letter designations, the Performance Tiering Strategy provides three tiers of machines — G tier, P tier and X tier.

“Every jobsite is unique, and customers want machine solutions that can be personalized to meet their diverse needs, including performance, price and comfort,” said Jason Daly, global director, production systems, technology and marketing, John Deere. “By offering three tiers, customers can move up or down the spectrum to find the right mix of features, performance and innovation for their business and application.”

The Performance Tiers are defined as:

The 444-724 P-tier machines reflect the performance capabilities and features that most customers expect from John Deere, such as those found on the current L-Series wheel loaders, including a redesigned cab, standard parallel lift Z-Bar loader linkage, high-lift plus option, electrohydraulic controls and dual return-to-dig settings. A productive and efficient 5-metric-ton wheel loader, the 644 X-tier features E-Drive technology, comprises a diesel-electric drivetrain and exemplifies the type of innovative features that distinguish the X tier.

The 644 G-tier is the first model to be available in the lineup of G-tier Wheel Loaders. The 644 G-tier is equipped with an all-new cab designed to boost operator comfort and productivity. Customers can customize the machine through a variety of base-level packages, including axles, tires, ride control, seats, radio and rear chassis work-light selections. With the 644 G-tier machine, John Deere delivers a solution ideal for light to medium construction jobs, such as stockpiling, short load-and-carry, truck and hopper loading, and material handling.

Designed and manufactured by John Deere, all tiered machines are backed by the same level of support— including John Deere Connected Support and a five-year subscription to JDLink. Customers can distinguish the different levels of tiering by not only the attributes and capabilities, but also by the distinct branding and design cues on the machines.

The John Deere X and P machines are now available for purchase in the U.S. and Canada, and the 644 G machine is available in Canada and other global markets. Other product categories will follow the Performance Tiering Strategy over time. Toro is introducing a new all-electric mower and its new Bullseye product line, while also expanding the company’s Workman line.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — The new all-electric fixed-head Greensmaster e1021 mower from Toro allows operators to mow up to 35,000 square feet (over 3,000 square meters) of turf on a single charge. A LCD screen gives the operator an instant view of the ongoing battery charge status and can also indicate diagnostics, machine hours, overall battery health and initiate backlapping.

The quiet e1021 is just right for applications near homes, resorts and anywhere where noise restrictions or regulations are in place. It also has no engine exhaust emissions, helping courses meet environmental and sustainability goals. Designed for minimal maintenance and a long service life, the e1021 helps courses get the after-cut appearance they want while saving labor and operational costs.

The telescopic handle adjusts easily to any operator, and the rubber isolated handle assembly reduces motion from walking so that the cut isn’t affected. Controls are easy to access and use, and the machine is compact and well balanced.

The e1021 joins the eFlex1021 and eTriFlex 3370 in Toro’s family of lithium-ion mowers for productivity, comfort and efficiency.

Additionally, campuses, facilities and sports complexes looking for a utility vehicle that can be customized to fit their needs will find two new options in Toro’s Workman line. The Workman GTX Lithium Ion Lifted model introduced in 2020 combines higher ground clearance with lower maintenance costs, and the just-announced steel bed accessory boasts the most cubic feet of cargo space in its class.

The Workman GTX Lithium Ion Lifted has three additional inches (7.6 cm) of ground clearance compared to traditional Workman GTX vehicles. This makes it easier for operators to drive over rough or uneven areas without causing damage and helps reduce the risk of accidentally dragging debris that can gouge the turf.

The lithium-ion technology powering the new Workman GTX Lithium Ion Lifted model is built to deliver 15% longer run time when compared to the GTX-E lead acid model. Plus, the vehicle’s lithium-ion power packs are maintenance-free, eliminating expensive scheduled lead-acid battery replacement.

When the vehicle is ready for a charge, there’s a high-efficiency charger on board that’s ready to be connected to any standard power outlet. This model also has the largest cargo capacity of any lithium-ion powered model in its class, so it can handle big jobs.

Modern 12" (30.5 cm) wheels and large 22" (55.9 cm) tires help protect the turf by evenly distributing weight, and the tires feature a tread pattern specially designed for driving over turf. In addition, the lithium-ion power packs are nearly 26% lighter than lead-acid batteries, reducing the machine’s overall weight for less wear and tear on fields and grounds.

Available for all current and former GTX models, the steel bed has the same 800-lb (363 kg) capacity as Toro’s poly bed. It also features water-resistant polyurea bed coating that not only adds sound and vibration damping, but also provides superior environmental and impact protection.

The Workman GTX Lithium Ion Lifted model and the new steel bed accessory are available now.

Toro is also pleased to announce an entirely new product line of grass and turf maintenance equipment. Branded under the Bullseye product name, the new lineup includes grooming, cleaning and de-compacting solutions for synthetic turf managers – in addition to brushes, cultivation, renovation and seeding solutions for those maintaining any type of natural grass.

The Bullseye QuickGroom 550, QuickGroom 700 and QuickGroom 710 can all be configured as towable brushes, ideal for grooming all turf. They’re lightweight and easy to pull, and the brushes feature long-lasting bristles that are aggressive enough to stand up leaf blades and turf fibers or incorporate topdressing and infill materials, yet soft enough to minimize plant stress and turf wear.

The FieldCombo 770, FieldClean 580, FieldMagnet 600, FieldFill 660 and FieldSweep 660 all provide effective and efficient ways to groom, clean and de-compact synthetic turf fields. The Bullseye lineup has a tool to complete any of the three primary field maintenance tasks, and with the available accessories to choose from, their versatility can be expanded to suit each customer’s specific needs.

The remaining Bullseye products provide natural grass solutions. The AccuraSeed 620 slit seeder and the RapidSeed 430 and 590 dimple seeders provide efficient seeding options for property managers. The RotaQuake 630 linear aerator has tapered steel blades that create cracks and fissures up to 10" (25.4 cm) deep for beneficial air, water and nutrient movement as well as root development with minimal surface disruption. The standard blade set on the Bullseye NuSurface 470 and 790 turf renovation tools allows customers to fraise or flail mow and clean up the debris, all in a single-pass operation. A single-pass verti-cut and cleanup can also be performed following a simple blade change.

All products will be available for delivery later in spring of 2021. For more information on the new Bullseye lineup, visit Toro’s website.
